MASTER'S PAINTINGS AND TIES

We present here a tie stylised from a 15 th century
Florentine master, ANGELICO.
All of the painting is reproduced on the narrow part of
tie,
on the wide part of the tie a part of the painting is
depicted,
which makes a real work of art.

The tie :
Shows a detail chosen from the top left part of a fresco
that can be seen in Florence San Marco museum.
The name of the city is unknown, although somme believe
it to be San Giminiano.
Henry James once staded, upon viewing this painting, that
" he could see the colours sing like Birds in spring ".

THE PAINTER
Angelico, born near Florence in 1400, is
considered to be one of the most innovative painters
In the 1400's. His techniques are particularly effective
as to depth, perspective and the use
Of colours to enhance emotions. He was considered the
founder of a new form of art in which mystic an gothic
elements were combined with the themes of Italian
Renaissance art. His works were purchased by Popes and the
powerful Medici family, then ruling Florence. His
masterpieces can today be seen amongst others at the Louvre
Museum In Paris.
