THE PAINTER

Angelico, born near Florence in 1400, is considered to be one of the most innovative painters

In the 1400's. His techniques are particularly effective as to depth, perspective and the use

Of colours to enhance emotions. He was considered the founder of a new form of art in which mystic an gothic elements were combined with the themes of Italian Renaissance art. His works were purchased by Popes and the powerful Medici family, then ruling Florence. His masterpieces can today be seen amongst others at the Louvre Museum In Paris.
